中性子科学研究に関する国際ワークショップ
「水素・水和構造を含めた構造生物学の開拓」
“Hydrogen and Hydration in Proteins
and Nucleic Acids”
（開放的融合研究総括国際ワークショップ）
の開催について

日本原子力研究所と独立行政法人農業生物資源研究所が科学技術振興調整費により実施した文部科学省からの受託研究「水素・水和構造を含めた新しい構造生物学の開拓」について、５年間の成果の発表と今後の中性子構造生物学研究の進展に資することを目的に、各国の中性子構造生物学に係る研究者が一堂に会して議論を行う国際ワークショップを、文部科学省の主催により開催します。
本研究では、科学技術振興調整費による開放的融合研究推進制度に基づき、平成11年10月から平成16年3月まで、タンパク質やDNA等の全水素原子位置を決定する上で唯一の実験手法である「中性子回折法」と、従来の「Ｘ線結晶解析法」、「NMR分光法」などの実験科学的手法を組み合わせて、水素及び水和構造を含む新しい構造生物学の開拓を行ってきました。
本ワークショップでは、研究者同士の諸外国との国際協力の一層の促進と、積極的な国際的情報発信の実現を目指し、現在タンパク質や核酸の水素・水和構造研究を精力的に行っている国内外の研究者による最新の研究成果を発表します。
また、本ワークショップでは特別講演として、結晶構造解析における効果的な位相決定法（直接法）を考案し1985年度のノーベル化学賞を受賞され、近年は水素原子位置決定で新しい手法を提案されているHauptman教授をお招きしています。
会場の準備の都合上、参加は事前登録とさせて頂きます
